You can probably tell from my recent re-blogs that I’m in the thick of the editing jungle. Self-editing my way to a cleaner manuscript with better pacing. I’ve bushwhacked my way through many ” crutch” words ( that, well and so) and redirected my passive course onto a more active one.
I’m not the best at self-editing but I am improving with help from my bestie and writing-wizard @tattooeddaughter and from blogs like this one from storyempire.com.
This blog has a concise checklist of ways to help self-edit, and I’ve added it to my own.
