As summer comes to a close and my favorite season rounds the corner, I can’t help but feel excited to trade the hot days, for cool nights, lemonades for pumpkin spice lattes and bright green leaves for rusty harvest colored ones.
I hope you all had fun filled summers, with brilliant memories made and maybe a chance to allow nature to inspire you to put pen to paper. As you’ll notice below, there are some hazards to this trade ( in the form of ants!).
Now back from my summer getaways, I’m more focused and back on track. Being more productive and checking off lists, puts this anal retentive writer in a happy place. I am most happy when I am in the writing zone…or traveling… or writing about traveling!
I thought I’d share some pictures of my last hazy lazy crazy days of summer. Tell me about your summers!

The tree pictured here, lent for a great back support while writing and enjoying my equestrian view. However, I didn’t realize how many ant colonies were built around its greatness. The itching was my first clue, followed by many, many red bumps-all over my legs and arse! Writing outside comes with its challenges!

Cara what a beautiful was to celebrate the end of summer. I loved the photos!!
Lovely impressions! 🙂
Thank you so much!!
Your photos are gorgeous. I love horses, and summer is my favorite season. Fall is lovely, but unfortunately followed by winter, which I hate! My perfect summer involves lots of swimming, sitting on my patio watching the birds at the feeder and my wonderful dog, Finn, playing and enjoying the yard, going for car rides with my hubby (and often our dog), going for walks early in the morning. I could go on. I’m a warm weather person for sure! Thanks for sharing your great photos of gorgeous scenery!
Thanks for visiting Gloria! I have to say Fall is my favorite, but I agree with everything you described of summer. That all sounds lovely. I love love love to watch and listen to the song birds in our yard. Thank you for your kind words 🙂
